Mural down the street

I noticed this mural when we first drove into town and have meaning to get some shots of it since. It was created by the local elementary school students. I think its great inspiration; the playfulness of the characters and the flattening of spacial planes. The way that the artist handles the space in the processional march image reminds me of a Diego Riviera mural. Fine indeed :)

Tres Torres- My home

I always end up doing this at the end of the trip, instead of the beginning. I guess its just my feeling of obligation to document the daily mundane things that don't photograph well. So this has been my daily life in Palma. My painting "studio", my "office" and my mint plant that has sacrificed so lovingly for the sake of oskar and I's appetite.

Platja de Palma at Night

The beach totally transforms at nite here. It goes from tans, beiges, ochres, and blues during the day to electric yellow and almost midnight black at nite. Plus the shapes created by the shadows of the umbrellas make them look as though they are flying saucers. I wish I had my tripod here to capture them from different angles, but for now I'll just have to use the boardwalk's concrete border as my tripod.
